How Petco helps with your Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations
Why Petco?
We take Extended Producer Responsibility on behalf of our members on a collective basis, helping you to meet legislated and corporate targets.
We use members’ EPR fees to drive the critical balance between making sure that recyclables are collected, that the recyclers (reprocessors) have the capacity to process these recyclables, and that there is an end-use demand from manufacturers for the recyclate.
Our activities include guiding product design for recycling, stimulating end-use markets for recycled material, carrying out outreach and awareness initiatives, and supporting the growth of local collection and recycling infrastructure and capacity.

We assume part of your administrative responsibility. Joining Petco means you do not have to create your own EPR scheme and report back to government for the identified products you have registered with us.

Member EPR fees are calculated on transparent plans that are a reflection of costs applicable for a robust EPR scheme. All EPR fees are audited periodically to support accuracy.
