Our primary goal in engaging with consumers is to empower them with accurate information on how they can actively participate in the purchase, collection, sorting, and recycling of packaging within the South African context.
We aim to improve awareness of the processes involved in collection, sorting, and recycling – and the difference it makes. By doing so, we hope to drive behaviour change and move towards a circular economy.
Essentials of the message
Buy packaging that is designed to be recycled and includes recycled content.
Collect recyclable packaging.
Separate recyclable packaging from non-recyclable packaging and wet waste, e.g. discarded food.
Put it out: for a waste picker, a municipal kerbside collection project or employ an SMME to collect. Drop it off: at a buy-back centre or drop-off site.
How we convey the message
Campaigns and collateral
We design campaigns, including digital and printed collateral, to increase awareness of how, what and why we should recycle, and about the materials that can and can’t be recycled.
Educational videos
We develop informative and engaging educational videos that explain complex topics in a simple way. Shown in schools, conferences and workshops, they are designed to inform, inspire and educate. Through edutainment, we are driving the message home.
The Petco docuseries
Our docuseries gives a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of the collection and recycling value chain in South Africa, and emphasises the important role consumers play in building a circular economy.
