We recently provided accredited training to waste pickers in Makhado Local Municipality in Limpopo. This was part of our ongoing mission to work with municipalities to unlock collections and empower waste pickers.

Our training helped the attendees to gain valuable skills in:

• Record keeping: Keeping track of their income and expenses.
• Financial management: Making wise financial decisions.
• Business administration: Running their businesses smoothly and efficiently.

South African law requires that municipalities manage waste responsibly. This includes:

• Collecting more household waste.
• Diverting waste from landfills.
• Educating communities about the dangers of illegal dumping.
