To help waste pickers understand the value of liquid board packaging (LBP), and to encourage its collection, Petco recently conducted a training workshop at Matlosana Recycling in the North West Province.

Matlosana’s forward-thinking founder, Cindy Foord, was the joint recipient of Petco’s Top Woman in Collection and Recycling award last year. At the workshop, the Petco team shared the fundamentals of how to start collecting and recycling LBP with Cindy and the buy-back centre staff as well as the independent waste pickers who trade with Matlosana.

Upskilling our sustainability champions will help Petco to drive LBP volumes and businesses like Matlosana to grow.
