Growing LBP volumes in Limpopo

In another boost for LBP collection, we recently partnered with our LBP producer member Tetra Pak® to support a well-known buy-back centre in Groblersdal with the delivery of a six-metre branded trailer.

The Limpopo buy-back centre operates in an area covering a 200km radius, buying recyclable packaging from shopping centres, landfills, and more than 200 waste pickers. On average, the buy-back centre collects about 82 tonnes of mixed recyclable materials every month – which includes 18 tonnes of PET and two tonnes of LBP.

According to a representative, the new trailer will make a big difference in their daily operations and enable them to increase collection volumes and branch out to new areas.
