An impactful Petco training and networking event in collaboration with WasteAid saw 33 attendees being taught how to implement an effective collection and recycling system for PET plastic bottles and jars and liquid board packaging (LBP).

Held in Johannesburg’s Diepsloot township, the event aimed to empower these wastepreneurs by giving them useful knowledge and showing how their work can contribute to South Africa’s recycling value chain and help divert waste from landfill.

On the day, WasteAid proved to be the perfect partner for Petco as we share an inspiring synergy in our objectives of growing the South African collection and recycling landscape. Both organisations are working to guide and support those who are interested in implementing environmentally and socially sustainable initiatives, and sharing the opportunities that exist within the circular economy.
