23 October 2018 | 08:30 - 12:00 | Hotel Verde, Airport Industria, Cape Town

WORKSHOP – DESIGNING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT: PETCO’S TOP TIPS ON HOW TO DESIGN EASILY RECYCLABLE PACKAGING.

This workshop is aimed specifically at designers and manufacturers of packaging, as well as brand owners and marketing teams, to equip them to design products for the environment.

Truly designing for the environment is about product stewardship, about forward-thinking initiatives, about innovation and breaking new ground to achieve never-before-seen solutions. To design for the environment, we need to be thinking about reducing the overall impact of a product on the environment before it enters the production stage. Thus, it is important to open dialogue between all stakeholders in the product value chain to increase the products that are designed more mindfully.

We will be hosting the workshop in both Cape Town and Johannesburg. PETCO members receive preferential entry into the workshop and special discounts.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF WORKSHOP

Provide a networking opportunity for PETCO members and interested stakeholders.

Share PETCO’s Designing for Recycling guidelines to ensure all future PET packaging produced in SA is easily recycled.

Learn from case studies within the industry where businesses were impacted by bottles that were not designed optimally and subsequently shifted to better designed packaging.

Challenge attendees to think about and design their products and packaging differently.

Encourage attendees to consider the long-term benefits of designing their products with the environment in mind.
