2016 International Coastal Clean-up Day
This year South Africa celebrates 20 years of participating in the annual International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC), the world’s biggest volunteer effort for ocean health and sustainability. Each year, more than 700 000 volunteers in 127 countries around the world give two hours of their time on the third Saturday in September to remove litter from beaches and the marine environment. South Africa’s participation is coordinated by Plastics|SA and Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, who joined the global clean-up campaign in 1996.
This year, we will be dedicating all our clean-up activities to the memory of Nelson Mandela. So, as part of International Coastal Clean-up Day on Saturday, 17 September 2016, PETCO is partnering with Plastics|SA to clean up Robben Island.
Sign up as a volunteer if you would like to participate in future events.
